Q. How does WAP work?

As a WAP user, your WAP enabled GSM handset uses its built-in mini browser (something like Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer but a lot smaller in size) to make a request in WML language in which the WAP pages are written. The request is passed to a sophisticated WAP computer called the WAP gateway that retrieves the information from the Internet or from a Local Content Computer. WAP provides access to interactive information and services from the handsets of WAP subscribers, providing them the freedom to access anything, anytime and anywhere.
